Design & implementation of the tourism flows model

Ministry of Tourism (NZ)

Covec developed the Tourism Flows Model for the Ministry of Tourism.  The model allows users to view the spatial flows of domestic and international tourists through a custom-built GIS software application, and can now be used online at http://tourism.maphost.co.nz/.

Design & management of the tourism industry monitor

Ministry of Tourism (NZ)

The Tourism Industry Monitor (TIM) is an ongoing research programme developed specifically for the tourism industry by Covec.  The TIM is informed by a monthly online survey of tourism businesses and is designed to monitor the performance, confidence and outlook for tourism businesses in New Zealand.  Covec designed and implemented the online survey and manages the entire research process.

Economic impact of the DHL Lions Series 2005

Auckland City Council
Ministry of Tourism (NZ)
Tourism Auckland
Tourism Dunedin

This project was jointly funded by the Ministry of Tourism, Tourism Auckland, Auckland City Council and Tourism Dunedin.  Our assessment was based on a post-event online survey of around 4,000 spectators whose email addresses were harvested from three separate matches.  Covec completed all aspects of this project - the collection of email addresses at each game, developing and deploying the online survey, processing the data, estimating the economic impact and presenting the results.
